Not many people may know this but I absolutely love seafood, most especially shrimps! I just think they’re very delicious and I feel a lot fuller with shrimp as ulam compared to, for example, fish & crab. That’s why I would never pass by an opportunity to try out a new seafood place in Cebu.. unless they don’t serve shrimps of course.
I would usually eat with my friends and we would usually look for restaurants that offer by the bucket. Now, after staying in Cebu for over 2 years and trying our different places, whenever we’d have a craving for some shrimp and we’re on a tight budget, our go-to place would always be the Bucket Lov’n Shrimps, which I think is one of the few places where you can find one of the best bucket shrimps in Cebu.
Why Bucket Lov’n Shrimps?
No seriously, their shrimps are amazingly juicy and tasty. I’m not affiliated with the restaurant so I am not writing this for their sake but of my own honest opinion. They serve by the bucket and each bucket cost about ₱390. Yeah I know it sounds a bit steep but that’s already a lot of shrimp. Each bucket of shrimps can satisfy around 3-4 people.
Their shrimps come in 3 flavors to choose from, namely:
- Garlic butter
- Cajun (Spicy)
Garlic butter is my personal favorite and I know a lot of people would agree too. It’s just so good…so good that I might as well go there and eat right now! Lol just kidding, I’m poor.
- Shrimps – ₱390
- Mussel – ₱250
- SaucyCrab- ₱300
- CrabME – ₱500
- FullFish – ₱350
- TunaBaby – ₱250
- Wingz – ₱250
- Sxylegs – ₱250
- CrazyPusit – ₱200
- Pusihead – ₱130
- Liempoloco – ₱200
- BBQ5stx – ₱150
- Ribs – ₱200
- SinigangBang – ₱180
- B. Rice – ₱130
- 1 Rice – ₱20
Affordable for the Group
As I said earlier, I usually only eat at seafood restaurants with my friends. Not only we get to enjoy and chatter, we also get to split the bill. It’s not necessarily cheap, but not outrageously overpriced either. Overall, I think the price is just reasonable. However, if you are more comfortable going alone, then by all means, go right ahead. Although, that’s too much shrimp for one person only!
If you know where the Capitol is, then the restaurant is not far away from there. It’s situated in a narrow street called A. Climaco St. Unfortunately, there are no jeepneys that pass through there but you can just get off at the corner of Bo’s Coffee and walk all the way.
In front of Bucket Lov’n Shrimps is STK ta Bay! which is another seafood restaurant. When we first went there, we actually got lost haha so if you ever arrive at the same predicament as we did, feel free to ask for help from people around the area. Tell them you’re looking for Bucket Shrimps or STK ta Bay since they’re just in front of each other.
Or you know, spoil the fun and just use Google Maps 😛
Bucket Lov’n Shrimps offer delicious and affordable shrimps by the bucket (₱390) with each one being good for 3-4 people. Conveniently located at the heart of the city, getting there can be a bit tricky for those who are new to Cebu. The road is narrow and if you are walking there at night, it’s a bit dark as the light on some of the posts are broken. But don’t worry as for the most part, it’s safe as there are a lot of other diners.
I recommend all shrimp-lovers out there to try Bucket Lov’n Shrimps and I hope that you find the dining experience worth it!
