If you are trying to travel to Mactan island without the hassle of riding a taxi or jeepney, there’s a quicker ferry boat alternative that can get you from Cebu City to Lapu-Lapu City. It is called the Metro Ferry and it transports passengers back and forth every 30 mins or depending on how fast the boat seats fill up. The terminal is located inside Pier 3.

So if you don’t want to deal with the heavy traffic of Cebu, it is good to know that you have this kind of option.
GETTING TO LAPU-LAPU VIA METROFERRY
1. Take a taxi cab and just tell the driver to drop you off outside Pier 3. If you are in Colon and you’d rather take a jeepney, rides those with the codes 01K, 01C, 02B on top. Before you enter the main gate of Pier 3, on the left side of the gate is the ticket booth for Metro Ferry.
₱18.00 – Regular
₱14.00 – Student/Senior Citizen/PWD
₱12.00 – Child (4-12 years old)
2. After paying for your ticket, go inside the main gate and on the right side you’ll see the Metro Ferry terminal.
3. Get in line and pay the terminal fee which is only ₱2.00. Then write your name in the passenger manifest.
4. Wait until there’s a boat ready and proceed inside to take your seat. The ferry boat will leave when it is full.
The travel time is only about 15 mins and voila, you’re now in Lapu-Lapu city! You can then just ride a jeepney, tricycle, or taxi if you want to go to other places. 🙂
