This is just a quick guide on how to get to the Tagbilaran City airport especially if it’s your first time in the city or in Bohol island altogether. The Tagbilaran airport is about 2 kilometers away from the pier and is located along Benigno Aquino Ave. in Tagbilaran city. The airport caters domestic flights.
How to get to the airport
There are different ways to get to the Tagbilaran airport. You can either choose to walk to it if your hotel is not that far, ride a taxi, or take the tricycle which is the most common mode of public transportation in the city. There are also jeepneys but they will not pass by the airport. Also, most locals know where the airport is so don’t be afraid to ask for directions. Boholanos are known to be quite friendly.
You can find tricycles everywhere in Tagbilaran city. The fare depends on how far you are from the Tagbilaran airport. It could range from ₱20-₱50 and if you’re coming from another nearby town then that will cost a lot more. But be careful, especially foreigners or tourists, it’s not uncommon for tricycle drivers to raise the fare for people who are not from the city.
A good advice would be to ask for an initial opinion from any security guards nearby or from locals casually strolling along.
Taxis are also very common in Tagbilaran. If you are coming from the pier, there will be taxis waiting at the parking lot. If possible, do not agree to a fixed price and ask them first to charge you by the meter. I haven’t ridden a taxi in Tagbilaran before but the flag down rate should be the same as in other cities in the Philippines which is ₱40.00.
Private Cars & Parking Fees
If you have someone bringing you to the airport, know that there is a one-time parking fee if ever the vehicle you’re on decides to stay in the parking lot. The parking fee in the Tagbilaran airport is ₱20.
